Hello everyone! I am Laya Maheshwari, aka Lazy Garfield (my alias on many sites) and this is my blog.

I originally intended to get I.Watch.I.Read started by April, so that I could work on it throughout my summer holidays. But, laziness, my SAT exams, a family vacation, the TOEFL and school kept me occupied me for the past 2.5 months. Which is why, in the end, the date of my first blogpost is 21st June, 2010.

Now, in this blog, I will be covering my passions. First and foremost, I will cover movies. I am an avid movie buff and will post thoughts, reviews, views etc. I also love to cuddle up with a book in my spare time, so do look out for some book reviews too. I am a casual gamer, so once in a while, I’ll also post a review of a game I’ve played.

Even getting to this point has taken a lot of effort and due to my utter lack of and knowledge or prior experience in this field, I needed help. A LOT of help. And help came from all quarters.

My friends from Twitter assisted me in any and every matter I asked. From thinking up names for the blog to finalizing the theme, they always came up with suggestions. Extra helpings of gratitude are reserved for Tushar Joshi (who provided the domain and hosting), Harshil Gupta, Akshay Bakshi, Sachin Palewar (who persuaded me to start the blog), Karthik Ragubathy and Chetan Gole (the tech wizards), Vinit Nair and Aniket (fellow cinephiles) and Sukhada Chaudhary (because she’s awesome).

I thought long and hard about a name for the blog. Mrunmaiy Abroal, Devika Girish and Sukhada Chaudhary all came up with great titles, but in the end, it is Sachin Palewar’s moniker you see on the logo.

Talking about the logo, I am laughably inept in all things graphics-related, and hence had to ask someone to make the logo for me. Ankur C. Shah created the banner you see on top and Akshay Bakshi created the stars, which I plan to use for my reviews.

I am also a doofus in technical matters, which is where Tushar Joshi, Sachin Palewar, Karthik Ragubathy, Chetan Gole and Dave Clark guided me through these murky waters.

Also, thanks to my brother Yash Maheshwari for bolstering me right from the onset!

Now, with that out of the way, I believe we can get down to actual movie-book-games-media business, can we?

Look out for some reviews hitting shortly!

PS – In the meantime, you can follow me on Twitter to remain in the loop!

    Hi ,

We at Endemol India are working on a TV show –
it is on an English niche channel which does shows around
celebrities. ( sorry for being cagey – but the details not firmed up
    yet, but since
there are not too many of those around – you pretty much know which one
    this is
    ).

Basically, it is an informed opinion show
where people who have an opinion on Bollywood let loose. Especially about a
Bollywood star, director that they dislike for varied reasons. We need to get in people
with strong and thought out reasons for their dislike. (It can’t just be a
rant) An anchor will lead the discussion!

    Is
this something you would like to do?
If so, we would need to shoot a video test and then take it from there.
    Do let
me know what do you think about it. Also would be great if you could
share your contact number/ email ID with me. It would be easier to a have a
    conversation about the show.

And oh – the show is still in its
initial stages of planning, so would really appreciate it not being discussed!!
