I’ll be honest: This is the film I’m most looking forward to this year.

That teaser trailer was a thing of beauty (although I can’t say I fully understand it — which may be intentional), and the first poster released simultaneously (you can see it here) was gorgeous too.

But all that is old news. What’s new news is the latest poster, released on IMDb just a little while ago.

Since IMDb seems to have the exclusive for the poster (and I am unable to link to the image directly anyway), you’ll have to click this link if you want to see the poster.

Pretty, isn’t it? I haven’t been able to pin it down fully. As soon as I post this, I’m going to run off and see the collage more closely. Much like the film (I hope), it seems to have everything in it.

But that’s not all. Further proof that the promotion drive for this film is really underway comes in two ways (sorry for the pun):

1. Fox Searchlight has launched a new website for The Tree of Life, called Two Ways Through Life, where they will reveal more info in the days to the film’s release. What you see below is an image from that site.

2. Along with that, a Tumblr for the film has launched too, again called Two Ways Through Life. Fox Searchlight will release two images from the film every day, each belonging to the two different ways (Nature and Grace). Neat idea, isn’t it?

This image also contains your first look at the dinosaurs in the film.

If you don’t know much about the film, maybe the official synopsis will clear things up a bit -

From Terrence Malick, the acclaimed director of such classic films as Badlands, Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950′s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.

Fox Searchlight is handling The Tree of Life‘s distribution. The film’s going to premiere at Cannes.
