As of this moment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is just 78 days away from release. Fans are getting antsy for the conclusion they’ve been waiting for with bated breath for years… and at this point, I know plenty of non-fans who are getting caught up in the excitement too.
And why not?
The Harry Potter series has been unlike anything the world of pop-culture has seen in a long time (if ever). You are talking about 8 films, made with the same cast (except when death got in the way) and extraordinary levels of commitment & resources. Which is why I feel that Warner Bros. has earned the swaggering confidence they so prominently display in this trailer.
Oh, and the trailer? It’s pretty effing great.
I see they’ve taken quite a few liberties with the climactic duel between Harry and Lord Voldemort. The Battle of Hogwarts, however, looks like an action setpiece that will blow our minds - and look stunning while doing so. I got goosebumps from every little glimpse they showed of Snape. Alan Rickman has consistently been one of the best members of the cast and the material he has to work with in this film is worth dying for. Talking about dying, for those who’ve read the books, it seems like certain moments look just as devastating as they were to read in the book, right?
Anyway, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will open in theaters (in 2D and 3D) on July 15 and there’s a high chance it will end up being the highest grosser of the year.

PS – I am so stupid I have trouble performing simple addition. Thanks to Ankit Jaiswal for pointing out an error in the first paragraph.
